On Saturday, January 26 from 11 am - 1 pm, I'll be the guest chef alongside Executive Chef Mychael Bonner at Sarnello's in Wheeling (at the Westin). Each month, Mychael selects a noteworthy "foodie" to host a cooking demo at the restaurant where guests watch as we prepare several dishes. Guests will enjoy a three-course lunch and learn about the menu Mychael and I prepare. I've selected, "The Art of Gnocchi" featuring several types of gnocchi dishes. A portion of the ticket sales will go to The American Foundation for Suicide Prevention. Following the demonstration, the gnocchi bolognese will stay on the menu for one month and a portion of sales for the dish will continue to go the AFSP.
The menu:
First Course
Roasted Beet Salad with pistachios
Second Course
Gnocchi Three Ways:
Spinach Gnudi with Brown Butter and Parmesan, Potato Gnocchi with Bolognese, Ricotta Gnocchi with Tomato Vodka Sauce
Third Course
House made Ricotta Cannoli with Citrus and Chocolate
Tickets are $25 per person with a portion going to the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention. Seating is limited. To make a reservation, call Saranello's at 847.777.6878
