The Local Chicago, an upscale Gold Coast diner from the restaurateurs behind the award-winning Chicago Cut Steakhouse, will welcome some of the Midwest's most renowned spirit makers and brew masters at two special dinner events pairing their products with Executive Chef Travis Strickland's refined take on classic, all-American fare.
The Local Chicago will feature a four-course menu and amuse paired with curated cocktails from Templeton Rye Whiskey. As a special treat, Michael Killmer, Templeton Rye National Brand Ambassador, and Keith Kerkhoff, Templeton Rye Master Distiller and holder of the family recipe, will lead the event as well as raffle off two tickets to the sold-out WhiskyFest Chicago. The menu and featured pairings include: First Course Cream of Mushroom Soup with Rye marinated fried shallots Beverage Pairing: Rosemary's Second cocktail Second Course Salad of Spring Asparagus with tarragon, pumpernickel breadcrumbs, pickled mustard seeds and poached farm egg Beverage Pairing: Blasé Roué Third Course Spring Lambchetta (lamb prepared in a porchetta style) with mint pea puree, Rye spatzle and rosemary demi glace Beverage Pairing: The New York Banner (A rye punch) Fourth Course Rye and Rhubarb Galette with vanilla gelato Beverage Pairing: Rye Alexander The Templeton Rye Dinner is $80 per person, exclusive of tax and gratuity. A cocktail reception will kick off the event at 6:30 p.m. and the dinner will follow at 7 p.m. Two Brothers Beer Dinner | Tuesday, April 16 The Local Chicago is pleased to welcome Jim Ebel, Owner and Founder of Two Brothers Brewing Company, a family owned and operated craft brewer and brewpub located in Warrenville, Ill. The evening will offer a unique dinner pairing experience featuring artisan brews as well as two reserve beers available exclusively at The Local Chicago event. The menu and featured pairings include: First Course Shellfish Trio with oyster shooter, lobster fritter, crab cake slider Beer Pairing: Prairie Path Golden Ale Second Course Crispy Baby Back Ribs with Carolina BBQ and Maytag blue cheese slaw Beer Pairing: Sidekick Extra Pale Ale Third Course The Local Fried Chicken and Waffles marinated in buttermilk with barley waffle and fava bean succotash Beer Pairing: Local Ale Fourth Course Homemade Root Beer Float with Black Dog Gelato and assorted cookies Beer Pairing: "Off the Cuff" Stout The Two Brothers Beer Dinner is $55 per person, exclusive of tax and gratuity.
