You’re all about the cocktail scene, who isn’t these days. You like to shake it up and you’re savvy with spirits. Cheers to you. Maybe you don’t recognize the name Nolet, but I’m guessing you're familiar with Kettle One. 11th generation distiller Carl Nolet Jr. was in town last night to showcase his family’s premium Nolet’s Silver Dry Gin and Nolet’s Reserve Dry Gin during a private dinner at Boka. Having successfully streamlined Kettle One into the market place, he's making the rounds to do the same with Nolet Gin. Chef de cuisine Carl Shelton paired three courses with head mixologist Ben Schiller’s gin concoctions.
Throughout the meal, Nolet shared family stories of how he, his father and his brother embarked on crafting the recipe for Nolet’s gins. Nolet’s Silver has distinct botanical notes of Turkish rose, peach and raspberry. The Reserve, at $700 a bottle, is a limited edition sipping gin that captures the aromas of saffron and verbena. Both were lovely and Ben has provided the recipe for one of his fabulous fine cocktails below.
